DS Weather is designed to provide useful weather widgets without creating an account, building a profile, or operating a developer-owned data service.
Information DS Weather uses
DS Weather may use:
- A current location when you grant location permission.
- A fixed city that you choose.
- Your preferred temperature unit and visual style.
- Weather conditions returned by Apple Weather.
These values support the app and widget functionality. Preferences, the selected location, and a temporary copy of the last successful weather result are stored on your device in the private App Group container shared by the DS Weather app and its widget extension.
No developer data collection
The developer of DS Weather does not collect personal data, location history, usage analytics, advertising identifiers, crash analytics, or diagnostic data from the app.
Apple platform services
DS Weather sends a location to Apple platform services when necessary to search for a city, resolve a current location name, or request weather data. Apple’s handling of that information is governed by Apple’s privacy policies and WeatherKit terms.
Accounts, advertising, and tracking
DS Weather has no account system, advertising SDK, analytics SDK, or developer-operated backend. The app does not track you across apps or websites.
Retention and deletion
On-device preferences remain until you change them, clear the app’s data, or delete the app. A successful weather response is cached only until the expiration time supplied by Apple Weather, then automatically deleted. DS Weather does not retain a server-side copy. You can revoke location permission at any time in iOS Settings.
Children
DS Weather does not knowingly collect personal information from children or any other users.
Changes
If DS Weather’s data practices change, this policy and the App Store privacy disclosure will be updated before the changed version is released.
